Joint Replacement – Knee
After a knee is severely damaged by arthritis or injury, it may be prevented from moving normally and require a surgical repair. A knee replacement involves removing the damaged areas of the knee or hip and replacing with new components and restoring the function and surface of the knee.
Dr. Hecht utilizes the Smith and Nephew Visionaire & Verilast Custom Fit Implant Systems as implant options for his knee patients.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury & Repair
The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) is the main support structure of the knee joint. The ACL is the most common injured ligament in the knee. Injuries to the ACL are typically caused my traumatic events such as collisions in athletics, accidents or severe falls. Patients with ACL injuries often complain of a “pop” sound from inside the joint, immediate, intense pain and a feeling of the knee giving out.
Millions of adults have knee osteoarthritis. In many cases, this chronic condition limits their ability to perform activities of daily living, play sports and work. Knee brace solutions reduce the load on the symptomatic compartment, relieve painful symptoms often associated with complex joint diseases and improve quality of life.
